Provisions for the Road to School

Vĩnh Giang, Cồn Cả: a fine day.

As part of the series of visits to families and presentations of scholarships to the scholarship recipients (2018-2019), over the past two days, accompanied by the seminarians and our fellow volunteers, and with the support of the parish priest of Vĩnh Giang and the seminarians from the area, the MLV Scholarship visited the families of the recipients Nguyễn Anh Duy, Nguyễn Thị Triều (Phó Thác), Hồ Thị Hồng (Terexa Hong), Nguyễn Thị Trúc Linh (Nguyễn Thanh Nga)... and also spent time with the Eucharistic Youth Society children there.

The weather was kind, the people were warm, and hearts fell into tune with one another. If the hallmark of the Scholarship is encounter, then this trip was an encounter widened out. If the annual gathering of the Scholarship is a time for the seminarians and the recipients to talk and open their hearts, then trips like this one are a chance for the Scholarship to visit families, to understand better the circumstances and the difficulties the students are facing on the road toward their dreams.

The Scholarship family is always here, always listening, always ready to share in your worries and your struggles. We hope you will keep heart and never give up your dreams.

On this trip the Scholarship also had the chance to spend time with the children of the Eucharistic Youth Society of Vĩnh Giang parish. They made a deep impression on us, these children with eyes that speak. We hope that in that short time together we were able, in some small way, to nurture and kindle the good dreams they carry.

We hope to see Vĩnh Giang and Cồn Cả again soon, on another fine day.
