SEMINARIAN PHÊRÔ TRẦN DUYÊN
VICE PRESIDENT, SEMINARIAN PHÊRÔ TRẦN DUYÊN

Seminarian Phêrô Trần Duyên was born on 2 September 1989, the sixth of eight children in a family in Trại Lê Parish, Can Lộc, Hà Tĩnh — that is, Quang Lộc commune, Can Lộc district, Hà Tĩnh province.
From his early youth he showed himself to be intelligent and well-behaved, with a dream of the religious life. All of this was evident in his activities in his home region and in his own parish, and above all in an intense love of reading.
He is a former student of Business Administration at the University of Economics, Huế, class of 2009–2013. Throughout his time studying in Huế he applied himself to his studies, and he was also eager and energetic in taking part in the students' common activities at the university as well as in the activities of the Sacred Heart Catholic students. It may be said that he belonged to the generation that rekindled and built up the student group, making it ever stronger, more active and more united, creating a bond of unity among the students.
It was also during this period, at the invitation of Father Pet. Trần Quân and out of the ardour of his youth, that he joined the Our Lady of La Vang Scholarship as a volunteer and as Head of the Executive Board (in 2014). Together with his companions he travelled the roads of the "Provisions for the Road to School" programme, reaching out to pupils in difficult circumstances and touching their dreams.
After graduating from university in 2014, with the hopes he had cherished since childhood and with his ardour, he returned to the diocese and resolved to follow the path of religious formation, beginning his formation at Mỹ Dụ Parish in the Diocese of Vinh. This was the period in which he accompanied the Scholarship more closely, serving as the link between the Father President and the Executive Board as well as the scholarship recipients and volunteers of the Scholarship.
In 2015 he passed the entrance examination to Xã Đoài Minor Seminary, and to this day he continues his formation at St Francis Xavier Major Seminary.
